Job Title / Designation: Senior Tax Accountant/ Asst. Manager (Business Tax), Manager (Business Tax)

Job Description:

  • Business Federal tax return preparation in Drake / Lacerate: (1065, 1120, 1120S).
  • Business State tax return prep: (TX & DE Franchise Tax, sales and use tax reports)
  • Review of federal and state returns prepared by team members
  • Perform and/or review monthly write-up work for clients in various industries using QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online, including bank reco, fixed assets, and journal entries.
  • Client QuickBooks set-up: (create chart-of-accounts, record opening balances, and preparation of a daily and monthly check list for internal bookkeeper.)

 

Key Functions & Roles of the Candidate:

  • Working closely with clients to reconcile bank statements, maintain depreciation schedules, make corrective journal entries, and prepare financial statements for review.
  • Review and/or prepare and file payroll tax returns (941, 940, State returns, W2, W3, 1099), and other reports for clients
  • Monthly compliance report to the concerned client and consolidated report to management by 5th of next month
  • Compilation of weekly activity report of work done by the team
  • Emails to be responded within 24-hour timeline, and escalations within 6 hour timeline
  • Non Compliances of law or deviations from internal policies must be brought to the attention of management within 24 hours from the time they are known to have occurred

Specific Skill Set:

  • Proficient in the use of QuickBooks and Excel spreadsheets
  • General computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong organization, communication, customer service, presentation, and PC skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate multi-tasking skills and the ability to alternate between different work processes
  • Strong analytical and technical research skills
  • Ability to teach, mentor and guide
  • Ability to meet deadlines while multi-tasking
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
  • Positive attitude with desire to build strong relationships with clients and co-workers
